Jennie “Patsy” Thompson Spence, 97, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Wesley Long Hospital. She was born on March 16, 1920 in Deland, FL., the daughter of Alexander and Mary Russell Thompson. She worked at Sears in the accounting department for over 20 years until her retirement. She loved her Lord and lived life to the fullest and was always ready to “go” where ever you wanted. She could light up a room with her smile and joy of life. Her family was always first and she loved her friends and neighbors. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.
Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, H.G. Spence Jr. in 1994; son, Bill Spence and brother Russell Thompson. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter Jeanie Church and husband Clarence; grandchildren, Cara Derounian and husband Pete, Danielle Church, Megan Spence, Gideon Spence and wife Meredith , great granddaughter, Aria Spence.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, 3:00pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30 till 3:00 pm prior to the service.
