Jerry was born on January 15, 1951, the son of Henry Bud and Gertrude Marie Lane Melvin. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his military service, he worked with Amp Incorporated.
Jerry always enjoyed being outdoors and working in the garden. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed time spent with family. He will be deeply missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years; Patricia Ann Eaton Melvin of the home; daughter, Arena Hannold and husband Jake of Kernersville, NC and son, Laramie Melvin and wife Anna of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Ted Melvin and wife Cheryl of Winston Salem, NC and Mark Melvin of Raleigh, NC; three grandchildren; Makenzie and Devin Melvin and Carmen Hannold.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel and burial with full military honors will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
