Mr. Jesse “Jess” Wilson Prather, Jr., 85, a resident of Greensboro died Friday March 16, 2012 in the Hospice Home at High Point. Mr. Prather was born January 27, 1927 in Lexington, KY, the son of Jesse Wilson Prather and May Belle Jennings Prather. He retired from Western Electric as Commercial Sales Manager. Jess was an avid fisherman and an expert in repairing antique clocks.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Daly Prather of the home; one daughter, Sheri P. Cox and husband Scott of Chapel Hill and one grandson, Christopher Cox.
A private family memorial service will be held at later date. The family has requested that any memorials be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262 or to the Guilford County Animal Shelter, 4525 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409.
