Jessie Watson

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Burial will immediately follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the funeral service, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:50 p.m., at the funeral home.

Born in Surry County, to the late Carlie Marion and Myrtle Slaydon Marion, Jessie was of the Christian faith. Her favorite pastimes were gardening (flowers and vegetables), cooking for her family, friends and neighbors, going on shopping sprees with her daughters and their Friday lunch outings, fishing off the pier at Topsail Beach, collecting antiques, and working puzzle books. Most of all, Jessie loved spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Mae Watson; brothers, James Marion and Kenneth Marion; a sister, Lola Riggs; and an infant sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Donald Burton Watson; children, Keith Watson, Penny Clearmont (Monte), David Watson (Kimberly), Gregory Watson (Shelly), Cyintha Radford (Randy), Michael Watson, Randy Watson (Lisa), and Patty Jackson; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Baugess (Bud) and Jo Nell Honeycutt (Clay); and other extended family members and friends.
