Joseph “Joe” Stanley Rebo, 88, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital after a short illness. He was born on July 14, 1929 in Greensburg, PA, where he spent his youth. Working as a sales representative for Jeannette Glass Company, he moved to Greensboro, NC in 1955, As he continued to expand and represent other manufacturers, he founded his own business, Joe Rebo and Associates, Inc. in 1967 which covered a large area of the Southeast.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Rebo Schade and Stanley J. Rebo; his sister, Sara R. Dario; and his devoted wife of 45 years, Gladys Plaitano Rebo. Joe and Gladys lovingly raised two children and she actively worked alongside him developing his business.
He is survived by his current wife, Rosann T. Rebo of Greensboro. Joe felt very fortunate to have found love and support a second time; their union lasting nearly 15 years.
In addition, he is survived by his brother, Tony Rebo of Hempfield, PA; daughter, Terri R Macdonald and husband, Keith; son, Joseph S. Rebo and wife Judy. Judy was his adopted daughter and lovingly referred to him as “Big Daddy”, a name in which he reveled. He had three grandsons, Andrew, Daniel (Melissa), and Bradley Macdonald; and most recently, a great grandson, Brody.
His love and relationship with classic cars, especially Corvettes, was a life-long passion. He collected and displayed many at local auto shows. He and his son, Joe, attended several auto shows a year, growing into a wonderful bond that every father and son hoped to share.
His devotion and attention to his grandsons was also a passion. His youthful person, life experiences, and sense of adventure and humor made him an inspiring grandfather with plenty of wisdom to share. He taught them to always be curious, seek knowledge, enjoy nature, engage with everybody, and to fully appreciate family and friends.
