

Greece in 1938, she immigrated to the Jamestown area in the mid 50’s, where she met the love of her life, Sipro and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. She was a homemaker who loved her family and God above all and enjoyed traveling. She is the co-owner of the Pavilion Restaurant on Vandalia Road in Greensboro. She was known to most of her Pavilion family as the sassy face of the family business. Katina was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church as well as a member, past board member and past president of the Ladies of Philoptpchos, always giving of her time and talents.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed more than words can express by her surviving family members, husband Spiro Nixon, son and daughter in law Phillip and Zoe Nixon, and daughters Roula Nixon, Georgia Nixon Roney and Angela Nixon Brooks. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, Victoria Nixon Bailess (Ben), Katina Kefalianos, Spiro Nixon, Stefano Kefalianos, Elaina Roney, Hannah Roney, Alex Nixon, Narena Brooks and Melea Brooks who will forever love her. She is also survived by her sister, Kiki Hassapelis, niece, Sophia Hassapelis and her two brothers in Greece, John and Demetri Perrou as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends on December 27th at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N
Hamilton Street High Point, NC 27262 at 6:00 pm followed by the Trisagion service at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Monday, December 28th at 2:30 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with interment to follow at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd in Greensboro.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Katina’s memory to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
