Katrina Powell

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.

Katrina was born October 31, 1966 in Greensboro to the late Maurice and Irma Clayton Hagy. She graduated from Grimsley High School and was a member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church. She worked as an insurance underwriter.

Katrina was a loving mother, grandmother and best friend to her husband. She enjoyed trips to the beach. She will be missed by her family, including all her "furry" children: Toby, Callie, Daisy, Betsy, Ziggy, Pixie and Princess Gracie.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Christopher Morton. Katrina is survived by her husband Jerry Powell; daughter Chelsea Garner; grandson Christopher Mullins, all of Greensboro, grandson Christopher Morton, Jr. of Eden; stepchildren, Joshua Powell and Jared Powell of Henderson, NV; and sister, Donna Evans (Dan) of Holden Beach, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Katrina's memory.
