Kimberley was born in Onslow County, NC to the late Robert Charles and Jean Zweifel Stortz. Her father was a US Marine which brought about many moves and different residences. She graduated Page High School in 1979 and met the love of her life, Barry, who she married in November of that year. Kimberley worked as an accountant but in her spare time she and Barry would hit all the hot gambling spots, primarily, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Cherokee where her favorite game was slots. Her little Yorkie, Harley, was her constant companion. She always celebrated Christmas in a big way, surrounded by her family whom she cherished so much. She loved the Carolina Panthers and HGTV.
Barry survives her along with their only child, Amber Stephenson and husband Sam of Greensboro. Her precious granddaughter Ryleigh was the light of her life. Also surviving are her brother and wife, Jeffrey and Anna Stortz of Florida; sister, Lynne Grimes of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law and wife, Rodney and Dawn Marshall of Pleasant Garden; nieces, Lauren Sainato and husband Allen and Kathryn Marshall; and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Scott Marshall and Mike Grimes.
