Lenora Dix Reece passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born June 24, 1928, in Caswell County NC to Harry W. and Georgia M. Dix, deceased. She married Sherlie Gordon Reece March 11, 1950, deceased. She is survived by son Kenneth Gordon Reece and wife Ruth Furches Reece of Raleigh NC, and son Marshall Alan Reece and partner Robert Cameron Dean of Fort Lauderdale FL, granddaughter Lauren R. Andrews and husband Phil Andrews of Huntersville NC, grandson John G. Reece of Raleigh NC, and great-grandsons Sebastian Reece and Dominic Reece. She was preceded in death by brothers Carl Dix and Charlie Dix and by sisters Bessie Early, Virginia Jeter, and Delia Strader. She is survived by one brother Doyle Dix of Reidsville.
Mrs. Reece was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Greensboro NC where she was a member of the Pittard Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women as well as served on the Board of Trustees and the Administrative Board of the church. She partook in bible study courses including Disciples courses. In recognition of her love of dancing, she was a member of Club 75, a social dance group. Mrs. Reece retired from Jefferson-Pilot Corporation after 18 years of service.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Friends Home at Guilford in the Living Room.
