Mrs. Cooper was born to the late Gustav and Frieda Welling on August 19, 1918, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she lived until moving to Greensboro in 1996.
Without a doubt, the passion of her life was her love for God and her family. She also loved her piano and she brought great joy to her family, and especially to her daughters, as she played favorite hymns and choruses. Music was truly an expression of her heart and soul.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Cooper, her brother, Frederick, her sister, Lillian Larson, and her grandson, William Stanley.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Willett and husband John of Greensboro, and Karin Stanley and husband Dennis of Shell Knob, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robin Thompson of Durham, NC, Lori Miller of Greensboro, Todd Rubel of Dallas, Texas, Scott Rubel of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Amy Hanft of Little Rock Arkansas and 11 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Carriage House, especially the Memory Care, for their loving care and commitment. A private memorial will be held with the family and a final service will take place in Pittsburgh, PA.
John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life; He that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
