Lynne Daniel Thurston

Lynne Daniel Thurston a resident of Greensboro passed away early this week at age 57. She was born on August 16, 1958 to Margaret Wilkerson Thurston and Robert L. Thurston. Lynne was known as “Dannie” and was a lifelong resident of Greensboro. She was a graduate of Grimsley Senior High School and attended Peace College in Raleigh. She earned an LPN nursing license from GTCC and had been employed in the nursing and health care industry. She enjoyed her career path for the past several years working as a home health care nurse and attendant.

Dannie had a heart of gold and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. Her smile was infectious and she always looked to the brighter side of her world. She was extremely congenial to everyone she met and her day was successful if she could gander a laugh from people in her presence. Her family members were her greatest treasures in life and she had a great devotion to the health and well being of animals.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Edward Lester and stepchildren Andrew T. Lester, Franklin Bryen Lester, and Tonya D. Nicholson. She is also survived by sister Anne Elizabeth Thurston and wife Karla Miller, brother Robert L. Thurston, Jr. and wife Patricia, and a niece, Margaret Ann Thurston.

A visitation is planned at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 12th at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home at 6000 W. Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC. Graveside Services will follow at 3:00 PM at Guilford Memorial Park, directly behind the funeral home.
