Marjorie married the late James Harding Waynick and begat 8 children. They both served tours in the United States Army, moved to North Carolina where James' people resided. Marjorie continued her journey in life in New Jersey, Arizona and back to North Carolina in 1966, where she found the East Market Street 7th Day Adventist Church.
After being a homemaker from NC, Marjorie went on to become an LPN Nurse and worked at the old Maitland Medical Center in Newark, NJ. So, in between being a nurse and mother she enjoyed riding her Harley Davison '76 Sporster complete with helmet and boots. She relocated back to NC and put to use her carpentry skills, acquired as a child from her father "Big Jim" who was a masonry by trade, and began her next 40+ years back in NC. Marjorie worked she was an accomplished carpenter; and built her home from a "shell" from foundation to roof "with her hands" excluding electric and plumbing requirements (the pump house).
Her love for her "pets" (so very, very many) that's story in itself, was a great comfort in all her days. She adored her horse "Blaze" \, you guessed it, she was a horsewoman also. Marjorie spent nights at a time at her sewing machines…quilting, embroidering, sewing, patching, oh some many wonderful pieces.
Marjorie's artistic skills were unsung...calligraphy and charcoal/pencils were among her favorite.
Marjorie is predeceased by 2 children, Leisa Sarah Joyce and Jacob Keith, and leaves behind are Daniel of NC, Susan of NC, Valerie and Erica of NJ, Stephen and Alonzo of CA and AZ, respectively. Grandchildren Adrian, Eric, Leslie, Denelle, JoeJoe, John(a.k.a. Tariq), Leisa, Marjorie, and Meshack. 17 grands, 30 great grands, and 6 greatgreatgrands.
Marjorie asked that she be remembered as follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, mother, carpenter, seamstress, horsewoman, motorcycle rider, Pet Lover, and lived her life to the best of her ability.
Mother, we found something you wrote to us that is worth mentioning here and it said:
My time has ended and now it is time to say goodbye. Do not weep dear ones, you were mine for a little while, but God loves you too. Just remember the good times we shared together, let by gones be by gones and profit by my mistakes. In your memories of my years with you; love one another as I have loved you. It seems such a short time! Make the most of it!
