Martha Ann (Key) Capps

Greensboro, NC. 61 years of marriage to her sweetheart, Richard F. Capps, Jr., 4 children and 1 grandchild later, God has chosen to bring our sweet angel back home.

Upon her arrival, she will be greeted by her parents; her infant daughter, Debrah Ann; and her sister, Lois Marie Fishel.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, her daughter, Shela Lynn Holm (Eric) and her other daughter, Cherri Lee Brown (David); her granddaughter; Brianna Kaleigh Pierce; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; numerous other family members; and her dear friend, Pam Tucker who gave her lots of caring love in her time of need.

She will always be remembered as a selfless, supportive and encouraging wife, mother and grandmother who always had a smile, even when times were tough.

Martha Ann had a natural, creative talent for making something out of everyday items. She was an extremely accomplished seamstress and crocheter. She was a well known cake designer and caterer for numerous friends and family. Her yard was decorated year round with beautiful and colorful flowers of all kinds. Martha Ann shared her passion for everything Christmas with her husband. They have a room filled with their collection of Christmas trees, ornaments, etc.

She retired from Guilford County Schools after 26 years as a cafeteria manager. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts for several years when her son was a member. She spent 20 years with the order of Eastern Star Chapter 141, serving as Worthy Matron two times. After retiring, she became a volunteer at Authora-Collective Thrift Store in Burlington, NC. The rest of her time was spent on maintaining her numerous flower beds.
