Martha Young Strandberg

Martha Young Strandberg, 88, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Abbottswood.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by The Rev. George H. Greer. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens.

Martha was born April 16, 1926 in Greensboro, the daughter of the late James Wesley Young and the late Montrose Ballard Young.

Martha was a former longtime member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and a graduate of Greensboro College where she was a voice and speech major. She was a financial analyst for Gilbarco and retired after more than twenty years. Martha will be remembered by her gentle, quiet spirit, her generous sweet smile, and her love of family. She loved animals, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed reading.

Surviving are her children, John Strandberg (Mimi) of Greensboro, Elizabeth Mosley (Keith) of Rocky Mount, Brenda Yates (Greg) and Chris Strandberg (Sara), both of Greensboro; brother, Buck Young (Evelyn) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jace Strandberg, Kathleen Welte, Penn and Julia Strandberg, Matt, Mark and Harrison Mosley, Jonathan, Allie and Ashley Yates and Colton Strandberg; great granddaughter, HalleAnn Mosley.

Friends will be received Saturday, 1:30-2:30 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
