He was always a happy smiling little boy and a joy to be around. No words can express how sad this is and my condolences and prayers to his parent's and siblings.

With love,

Matt, I was just thinking about some of the great times that we shared at ECU. We were next door neighbors at Player's Club Apartments, but also knew each other from the dorms. You were a good friend and a distinct personality within our group of friends. Gregarious, to say the least, you were always one of the first to say hello and check up with friends during college life. Thanks for being a friend!

Thinking of you and your family, Matt. Sandra (NCS)

My condolences to Matt's family and friends. Matt had a way of cheering up the room with his glowing personality. He will always be in our prayers and memories. Rest in peace my friend.

I am so sorry to hear this news about Matt. Although I have moved from Raleigh and hadn't crossed paths with him in a while, I remember seeing his smiling face in the hallways at Wake Med as we both worked together as medical device reps. He was always so friendly and enjoyable to talk to. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.

Nicole, Kathleen and Dean, I am heartbroken that you have lost such a dear brother and son. Matt was a special guy in so many ways. Please know he will always be with you. And you have many friends who are here to prop you up when you need us most. Love, Kathryn

I am sorry for your loss. I briefly knew Matt from working out with him at Arrichion. He always had a smile and willing to help others. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayer are with your family.

Matt was a friend, confidant, and riding buddy extraordinaire. The joy he got from riding his motorcycle was contagious and I will always remember his sparkling eyes and ear-to-ear grin you just knew he had under his helmet when we'd come to a stop. I never heard Matt utter a harsh word about anyone, and he was always friendly and eager to find out what was going on in other people's lives. I'm glad he finally got to drive my Corvette, which he always admired. I loved you like a brother & always looked forward to seeing and riding with you. Thank you for being a part of my life! Godspeed Matt!

Kathleen and Dean, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending many good wishes for healing of this devastating hurt.

Much love to you all, Elizabeth Paner xoxoxox

A candle burning for another angel in heaven. You were a great neighbor and your joy with Ashlyn was only a piece of what your family must have experienced. Lyle and I are praying for you and your family during this great time of loss.

Matt, Nicole, and Kathleen lived behind my family when I was in middle school and high school. Matt and my brother Tommy were very close friends; so much so that it seemed like I had two brothers most of the time! He was such a nice guy, who never minded when I would tag along. From his FB posts, I know he adored his niece and nephew, and I can't imagine the loss that his family must be feeling right now. They are in my prayers.
