Nancy was born in Stoneville, NC on Jun 28, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Reid and Mary Clark. She was preceded by husbands Bill Monroe Brooks and Miller Cummings Angel, sister Edna Foley, brother Robert Clark and grandson William Alexander (Bill) Whiteside. Survived by three daughters, Leah Brooks Merritt, Lydia Brooks Whiteside, Andrea Brooks Priede and husband Troy Priede, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Nancy graduated from Stoneville High School and then graduated from Draughon’s Business College. She was a member of the Greensboro Symphony Guild, a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and an active member of Christ United Methodist Church.
As for hobbies she enjoyed cooking and entertaining with family and friends, playing bridge, gardening and traveling.
She loved taking the family on annual beach trips where so many wonderful memories were made. “Nana” enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren….she was definitely “baby” obsessed.
She had a strong faith and was a loyal friend. Fashion was her best friend and she prided herself that she was the only 80 year old that still wore heels! She was a true southern lady.
