Noah was born the third child of Marc and Elaine Putnam. A pastor’s son, Noah grew up in the church. Trinity Church was a second family to him. He lived his whole life in Greensboro, graduating from Western Guilford High School and eventually from Guilford College with honors. After graduating from Guilford, he worked in IT and manufacturing.
Thirteen years ago, Noah was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. He survived the initial surgery and treatment under the care of Dr. Desjardin at Duke Hospital. For the next decade Noah flourished under the care of Dr. Vaslow at Wesley Long Cancer center.
Noah was a world traveler, especially in Central America and East Asia. He loved music, even hosting a radio show on WQFS. He loved disc golf and padding his untapped resume. But most of all he loved time with his friends. He invested heavily in them and took deep encouragement from them.
Noah will be sorely missed, a beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle and a friend to many. Our family would like to thank all those friends who came to visit Noah during his quick decline. We would like to thank again Dr. Vaslow for his excellent care and support, both of Noah and our family.
Noah is survived by his parents, Marc and Elaine Putnam; grandparents, Doris and Wayne Stafford; siblings, Mary Grace Thomas (Derek) and Nathanael Putnam (Mary), and all their children.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 23, at Trinity Church, 5200 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trinity Church or the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
