Patricia Lockamy McNairy, 80, passed away October 28, 2021. A memorial service will be at 2 PM, Thursday, November 4, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel officiated by Reverend Beth Crissman. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM prior to the service. She was born in Greensboro, January 29, 1941.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Rush James and Daisy Smith Lockamy, her beloved daughter, Lisa Ann McNairy Gordon, age 38, a loss she never got over and brother, disabled Vietnam veteran Garland C. Lockamy.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 62 years, Holly A. McNairy; sons and their spouses, Mark Andrews and Lia Baldoni McNairy of Los Angeles, CA and Stephen Craig and Harumi Yamakawa McNairy of Weehawken, NJ; brothers, Tom Lockamy and wife Nelda of Greensboro, Howard Lockamy of Atlanta, GA and Doug and Donna Lockamy of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are son-in-law, Mark Eric Gordon and wife Lisa Stone Gordon and their children, Leslie and Reese Stone. The “spice of her life” are her grandchildren, Daisy Ella McNairy, Ryder Andrew McNairy, Jackson Miles Gordon and wife Katie Shea Gordon and Bailie Elizabeth Gordon and great grandson, Blinky Augusto Felix.
Patricia became a member of W. Market St. United Methodist Church in June 2014 and served as a member of the Ushering Team, Communion Steward Committee and CareKnitter’s Group. She devoted her life to her family and her greatest joy was spending quality time with family and friends. Patricia cherished her time entertaining, cooking for family and friends, experimenting with new recipes from her large collection of cookbooks, knitting and was an avid shopper. She looked forward to cruising trips, family vacations at the coast and NC mountains.
After raising her three children, she worked in residential real estate and afterwards worked a full time job with the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point for 12 years from which she resigned in 1996. Following that, she worked part time positions with various companies as a sales associate within the International Home Furnishings Market, through April 2015. From 2011 to 2014, Patricia volunteered at Wesley Long Hospital at the Surgical Waiting Desk.
One of her favorite quotes was “A day without laughter is a day without sunshine.” She believed in living by the biblical statement, Luke 6:31, “Do to others as you would have them do to you” commonly known as “The Golden Rule.”
