Patsy Smith Straughan

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 am, Hanes Lineberry, N. Elm Chapel with Rev. Jesse Bledsoe and Rev. Lou East officiating.

Mrs. Straughan was born in Greensboro to the late Colon and Grace Adcock Smith on August 10, 1929. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Patsy was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Ladies Sunday school and served as an Elder.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Serene Straughan, Jr. and son William C. Straughan. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Patsy Smith of Greensboro, Penny Poole and husband Jay of Summerfield, and Buddy Straughan and wife Ann of Pleasant Garden; grandchildren, William Patrick Smith and wife Susan, Margaret Straughan, Callie Straughan, Sarah Poole, and Jesse Poole and wife Katie; great grandchildren, Kate Smith, George Patrick Smith, Jesse Poole IV, and Rawlings Poole; sisters-in-law Adelaide Smith and Naomi Smith; and niece, Mecia Marsh.

The family wishes to thank Brian with Lincare and all the doctors who assisted in taking care of Patsy.

The family will visit with friends following the service.
