

.Mr. Paul Herman Mitchell, 83, a resident of Greensboro died peacefully with his family in attendance on January 24, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born April 6, 1927 in Alexander Co., a son of Marvin Washington and Lillian Patterson Mitchell. He was a graduate of N.C. State College and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Mitchell was of Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dylan Paul Mitchell and a sister, Jackie Mitchell.
On October 18, 1952 he was married to the former Lorena Tatum who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Jean Lose of Annandale, VA, Robin Gates of Durham; one son, Paul H. Mitchell, Jr. and wife Susan of Ft. Mill, SC; one sister, Madelyn Lackey of Taylorsville and four grandchildren, Steven Lose, Rachel London, Tatum Gates and Nathan Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Mitchell will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by Reverend Donna Smith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
