A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro with a visitation to follow in the Virginia Gilmer Room.
Peggy was born on April 4, 1937, in Saint Petersburg, Florida to the late Arvell Nathaniel and Grace Mullins Curry. She grew up in Florida and attended school there; graduating from Ocala High and Stetson University, with a BA in Early Elementary Education. She was an Alpha Xi Delta sister while in college.
Peggy taught third grade in Ocala and Daytona Beach and later, she taught school in Germany (US Military Dependent Schools) at Kaiserslautern Army Base and Ramstein AFB, where she met her husband, Paul.
Peggy and Paul were married in Bern, Switzerland on June 13, 1966, and returned to the states one year later. They reared a son and daughter in a loving home and lived in North Carolina for 51 years. She enjoyed her years teaching third grade and traveling to many places such as Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, Africa and Russia. She loved playing bridge with many different groups. She also loved being with her family, especially sharing her experiences with her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her husband Paul of the home; son, Brett Curry Leonard and wife, Anne of Rogers, AR; daughter, Heather Leonard Harrell and husband, Kevin of Pleasant Garden, NC and five beloved grandchildren, Madeleine, Lillian (Lila), and Frances Leonard, and Katherine and Kevin Harrell.
The family would like to thank Faith Humphries and her daughter, Love Zeigler for the excellent care they provided Peggy during the past nine months.

Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel is assisting the Leonard family with arrangements.
