

Peter “Pete” Philip Wilson passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital. Pete was born on March 28, 1941 in Guilford County, the son of Tyson and Exie Berry Wilson. Pete worked for years with the Carolina Quality Block Company. He also enjoyed working on small engines and worked with Warden Small Engine Repair. He was a handy man and could do almost anything. He was a member of Welker’s Crossroads Evangelical Methodist Church and Moose Lodge # 685.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He placed his family first. He will be deeply missed.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and brother J.T. Wilson and a very special uncle, Bryant Wilson. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Viva Combs Wilson of the home; children, Rhonda Lang and husband Mike of Trinity, NC, Randy Wilson and wife Lisa of Julian, NC, Tammie Lilly and husband David of Summerfield, NC, Larry Clifton and wife Vickie of Beaufort, NC; grandchildren, Phillip and Bryant Wilson, whom he was very proud of, Terry and Stephen Moore; five great grandchildren; siblings, Ralph Wilson and wife Mary, Doris Kinley, David Wilson and wife Helen, Burton Wilson and wife Kathy and Ann McMath and husband Doug, and a very special friend, Dale Warden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. John Phillips III. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
