

Phyllis Ann Taylor Ryals, 89, a resident of Greensboro passed away at her home on Sunday evening, August 23, 2020. She was born in Guilford County on September 9, 1930 the daughter of George Washington and Myra Vickrey Taylor.
Phyllis was a graduate of Pleasant Garden High School. She worked for a period of time at what was known as Guilford Bank and later worked in the front office at Green Valley OBGYN for over 40 years. She was a member of Pleasant Garden United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Shirley Taylor Nicholson, Becky Taylor; a brother, George Herbert Taylor and her step-mother, Ann Taylor.
Phyllis is survived by the love of her life for 71 years, husband William A. Ryals of the home; her loving and caring daughter, Judy Ryals Ritter and husband Warren of Greensboro; her brother, James Taylor of Boone; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Taylor of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Angie Smith Barlowe and husband Deckster of Concord, Patti Smith Jackson and husband Garrett of Pleasant Garden, Jason Ritter of Greensboro and eight great grandchildren.
Phyllis will be remembered for her love for her family and her cherished friends. She was very outgoing and loved being around people. She had a beautiful smile and a kind heart. One of her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis had a long-lasting friendship with the Doctors and staff at Green Valley OBGYN.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Mark Weekley.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Phyllis’ Care Givers; Shannon Grills, Pattie Smith and Zack Sharpe. The family also appreciates the special care she received from the ICU Staff, Nursing Staff, and Doctors at Wesley Long Community Hospital and Authora Care (Hospice) of Greensboro.
Serving as pallbearers will be Deckster Barlowe, Jacob Johnson, Garrett Jackson, Joey Jackson, Billy Jackson and Jason Ritter.
The family requests that any memorials be made in Phyllis’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
