Rachel N. Snyder

Rachel N. Snyder, 89, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Clapp’s Nursing Center. A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held on Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Rachel was born in High Point, NC on June 27, 1924, the daughter of Samuel and Belle Dalton New. She was a loving mother who always put her family first. She loved to cook for the family and Sunday dinner was always held at her home. She loved her grandchildren and cherished the time she could spend with them. She will be deeply missed.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Snyder in 2000. Those surviving are her children; Tommy Snyder and wife Susan of Greensboro, NC, Terrie Gibson and husband Wayne of Jamestown, NC, Steve Snyder and wife Carol of Julian, NC and Jimmy Hancock and wife Patty of Franklinville, NC; grandchildren; Mark Snyder and wife Kris, Carrie Schmidt and husband Ryan, Courtney Fisher and husband Brian, Nolan Snyder, Daniel Snyder, Michael Hancock and Doug Hancock; great grandchildren; Cameron Fisher, Mackenzie Fisher, Isabelle Snyder and Gardner Schmidt

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Clapp’s Nursing Center for the loving care given to their mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
