Very important to him was West Market Street United Methodist Church where he was active in many capacities: office, mobile meals on wheels, usher, and volunteer at many functions within the church. It was not unusual for Reid to regularly go beyond the ordinary in the church and in his interactions with family and friends alike. He loved his family so very much and gained much joy from spending time with and doing things for his grandchildren with whom he shared many interests and activities. He also enjoyed family meals, Wednesday morning breakfast with his buddies, performances, travel and a good joke.We are so thankful to God for giving us an extra year to share with him. He was able to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary; his children’s career successes; and especially his grandchildren’s accomplishments. Each grandchild had a special place in his heart and he in theirs. He was grateful to be able to enjoy a special closeness with them and they with him.The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Richard Weintraub and Dr. Alex Radiontchenko for their excellent care. The Kerr family requests any gifts or donations in memory of Reid be given to West Market Street United Methodist Church or Greensboro Urban Ministry. His friends should remember him over a cup of coffee and biscuit with friends or family.
