Born on October 19, 1946 in Coffee County, Manchester, TN, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Ruby Lynch Cathey. Rita enjoyed cooking and country music. She also enjoyed Elvis and Nascar, with Richard Petty being her favorite driver. Rita loved her family.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four siblings, Alice, Bobby, Sandra, and Shirley.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Ray, III and his girlfriend Tammy Hiatt and Jason Allen Ray and his wife Mary; grandson, Layne Allen Milton Ray; sister, Janice Phillips; sister-in-law, Carolyn Grimes; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
