Robert Wall Bridges, 86, a resident of Pennybyrn and a former resident of High Point and Jamestown NC and Louisville, KY passed away on Thursday morning May 14, 2020 after a period of declining health. He was born January 11, 1934 in Lawndale, NC (Cleveland Co.), the son of Alston and Laura Mabel Wall Bridges.
Robert was a 1956 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and was the former CFO of Akzo Nobel, formerly Reliance Universal.
He was married to Celestia Catherine Edwards Bridges who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Milton Bridges and Donald Bridges.
Surviving are his daughters, Carol Lynn Bridges of Mebane, NC; Robin Bridges Basham and husband Kevin of Lawrenceburg, KY; son Robert W Bridges Jr of Mebane NC; brothers Kent Bridges and wife Linda and Dennis Bridges and wife Suzanne of Shelby NC; grandchildren Andrew Basham, Jeremy Basham, Daniel Bridges and Nathan Bridges and great grandchildren Ambree Basham, Katessa Basham, Jeremiah Basham, Adaley Basham and Landon Basham.
