A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal with a reception at the funeral home, Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 24, 1929 to the late Michael James Kesslick and Margaret Burns Kesslick. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He worked in the Claims Department with Central Freight Line and Old Dominion Freight Line for many years before his retirement. Robert was a wonderful Christian and was always there for his family. His love for his family was one of his greatest attributes. Robert was a charter member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and at the church he would greet everyone with a smile and either a hug or and handshake. He was a very faithful servant to his church, serving in various capacities.
Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, adoring grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His family takes comfort knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 69 years, Louise Fail Kesslick; sons, Michael Kesslick (Katherine) and Mark Kesslick; one brother and one sister of PA; grandchildren, Heidi Kesslick Fields, Rebecca Kesslick, Mathew Kesslick; three great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and loved ones.
