Ruth was born in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of John J. and Ida Mae Elliott. She retired in 2002 from Robert's & Dennis Group after over forty years in the insurance industry. We treasure the memories of Sunday lunches, birthday and holiday celebrations when the family would gather at her home. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. She loved gardening and had a beautiful yard that she so enjoyed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jimmy Ridge. Two children Kathy Annas (Steve) and Daryl Ridge (Tracy). Three wonderful grandchildren whom she adored, Brittany Cardwell (Brad) of Germanton, Kelsey Annas of Bemidji, Minnesota and Wesley Ridge of High Point as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, her father, her brother John J. Elliott, Jr. and sister, Dorothy Lowdermilk.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until service time.
