She was born on February 13, 1951 in Guilford County, the daughter of Norman and Emma Reid Hayworth. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, and Jack Hayworth
and son, Donald Ty Laughlin. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she’s survived by husband Greg Keever; daughters Angie Burleyson (husband Terry Burleyson) and Christy Elmore (husband Graham Elmore); grandsons Landon Burleyson and Wyatt Elmore; and granddaughters Leah Burleyson and Emma Elmore.
Sherry will be loved and remembered as an amazing wife, sister, mother, and grandmother; a devout Christian; and an impressive, sharp business woman.
Sherry had many passions, including reading, daily devotionals, travel and wineries with her husband, and a love for the beach. She spent a lot of her time enjoying trips, brunches, and shopping excursions with her daughters (whom they consider their mother to be their best friend). But her deepest passion was her grandchildren, taking prideful time to attend sporting events, ceremonies, parties, special occasions, and loving them with all heart and soul. Her superpower was being a GiGi.
Her life will be celebrated Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11AM, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
