I had the pleasure of working with Susan at BB&T.  I enjoyed hearing her share stories about her family, her cats, and of course, golf.  She just beamed about her opportunity to go to the Masters each year, and pondered whether they would have a new Masters’ shirt and visor that she didn’t already own. She made us all laugh with her dry sense of humor. Praying for peace and comfort for the family during this time.  Susan will be missed. 

Susan was my best oyster eating, chicken wing loving girl! We met through work(BB&T) and became fast friends and have shared many wonderful times over the past 20+ years. She was one of the most loyal, kind and smartest people I have ever met and she had a humongous heart.  I am going to miss her terribly. I extend my sincere condolences to her family, who she loved so much. I felt like I knew you❤️ Susan made a difference in this life. That’s for sure. 

I was very sad to hear of Susan’s passing. I worked with Susan at BB&T during her last year. I truly enjoyed working with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Susan you will certainly be missed. I will never forget how well you treated my parents for all the years you were their neighbor. The funniest thing I remember is that when Abby (my daughter)  was little she always called you Nusan because she couldn’t say Susan and that name just stuck.   I enjoyed all the advice you gave me around my career in banking and will forever be grateful for your friendship. I just know my dad was happy to see you as you entered the gates of heaven. I am saddened by the loss of my neighbor and friend ! We have been neighbors since 2001. She was such a kind soul and always offering help , whether it was getting my mail if I was gone or mowing my yard if my mower broke down. We had many back yard chats. She loved her cats and at one time, because of her soft heart, she began feeding stray cats. When we began seeing at least 20 cats roaming around, I asked her if she could stop because every kitty in the neighborhood knew where Susan lived. We had a good laugh about that. To her sisters and family, please know I am keeping you all in prayer during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with Susan at BB&T for many years as her manager.  Susan was a person of integrity with a strong work ethic.  She was fun spirited with a dry sense of humor.  I loved hearing stories about her cats.  My deepest and sincerest condolences to her family.  Susan will be missed! 

For many years it was my privilege to work with Susan at BB&T. She was a project manager on a number of critical initiatives I was charged to sponsor as well as later in her capacity at Chief Compliance Officer offering guidance and expertise. I was impressed with Susan's intellect, drive and work ethic. But above all I simply remember Susan for her whit and sense of humor. Shortly before her retirement she joined my wife's (Mittie) ladies group for weekly outings. We were both touched by Susan in many ways and will always remember our times spent with her. Sending our thoughts and prayers to the family and a wish for Susan's everlasting life. God bless you all!!

I am grateful for the opportunity I was given to work with Susan.  She was truly  a kind spirit that cared about the well being of others and will be missed.

It was so sad to hear about Susan. She was a wonderful person and was a pleasure to be around. She always stayed true to herself and would always tell you her opinion even  though you did not want to hear it. I enjoyed all the fun times at the Hairfield house in Lenoir with her and her brother Vincent.  She was a classmate of mine, a LHS 1976 Bearcat and I enjoyed spending time with her on our 40th Class Reunion. She will be missed. Prayers to the family. 

My condolences to Susan's sisters and family members.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I worked with Susan for many years.  She was a great manager to me.  Will always remember she treated me with  kindness...and she always had a unique wit regardless of the situation.  She will be missed. Susan and I were in the graduating class of ‘76, LHS Bearcats. My prayers are with her sisters, other family, and friends. May God hold you tenderly.

Susan (although she will always be Susie to me) was a special classmate and friend.  So many memories.  The birthday party when we were at Davenport when VI and Susan got out their birth certificates and found out they were celebrating on the wrong days, many trips and travels in the blue station wagon, just chatting in the Hairfield's kitchen with her mom, finding the WRJI Easter egg, the gorge........just growing up together.  Susan was simply authentic and genuine. I am attaching a photo I snapped at the latest high school reunion.

Anytime spent with Susan and you knew she so loved her family.....especially her three older sisters.  I am grateful that she was in Greensboro near you these last days.

Prayers for strength for all her family and friends.  Be at peace.

Susan was a wonderful, funny, and kind person.  We were very good friends in high school and spent many summers playing cards, tennis and swimming with friends at the gorge.   
It was nice to reconnect with her at our 40th Reunion.   She will surely be missed.  I am deeply saddened by her loss.

My condolences  to the family.   Very sad to here  the news of her passing.   

I was truly shocked and saddened to hear of Susan’s declining health and her passing.  She was a very special lady whose time on this earth ended much too soon.  

A few times I’ve had the pleasure of playing golf with her and it was always a fun time.  She was so fun-loving and a joy to be with, on and off the golf course.  Her sense of humor would brighten anyone’s day.  She will be missed by many.

My heart breaks for her family, who will be in my thoughts and prayers.  

Susan will be missed by all, but especially by the Willow Springs Ladies Golf Association.  She was always ready to help with our tournaments and she had such great ideas of how to make the tournament memorable.  I was at the Masters with Susan, Susan and Sue (I am the only one not named Sue - just grateful that they allowed me to go with them0, and we had such a great, and very funny time!  She was sweet, funny, helpful, smart, and loving, and we cannot express how much she meant to us.  This year will be very different without Susan Hairfield on the tee with us.  Blessings to all of you.

Susan was one of the Ya-Ya's. Always ready for GNO.  We had so much laughter and fun.  "I'll have another Madras" ... her favorite drink. I will never forget all the fun and smiles she shared with us. She was so kind and gentle. Always caring. I will miss her so much. Love you Susan! Thank you for bringing joy to my life! ❤😘

Susan was so much fun to play golf with. She had so many fairway wood, it amazed me that there were that many.  The 3 Susan (, Susan Baker, Me, Susan ) & Lynne Cates all went to the Masters and had so much fun.  That was a happy place for her. She was so funny and always had something to add to our goodie bags at tournaments. We could always count on her to help.  But hated her picture to be taken. We will miss her but we will think of her often when we play. 

I am so sad to read of Susan’s passing and send the family condolences and prayers.  
I was a golfer friend and always enjoyed my time on the course with her.  Susan was very sweet, friendly and a good golfer, we will miss her but she will be very fondly remembered.

So many laughs and so much fun on the golf course with Susan. Went to Masters with her , Sue McGuire and Lynne Cates in 2019. Priceless!!!

I will always remember Susan as a kind generous friend who loved golf.  She enjoyed sharing memories of her Dad and their trips to the Masters!  I always looked forward to my “Goodie Bag” at a Willow Springs golf tournament!  Susan always put something you look forward to receiving!  If it came from the Masters Golf Tournament, you knew it was from Susan!  I’m still using the bug spray she gave me last tournament!  Susan left an impression I’ll alway cherish!
