Victor Leo Cates Jr.

Victor L. Cates, Jr., 80, was born July 20, 1941 in Greensboro, NC, where he lived his entire life. He died at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Victor graduated from Greensboro Senior High School, where he played on the 1960 State Championship Football Team. He served his country in the United States Guard, search and rescue for four years. His professional career of 40 years was in industrial supplies. Victor is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Michelle; son-in-law, Michael; sister, Dianna “90” Cates Zimmerman; and many beloved nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Victor loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, and played golf with a passion. He was and enthusiastic Carolina fan and NY Yankees fan. He will be greatly missed here on earth and will be welcomed in Heaven by his Savior and by the many loved one who had gone before. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:17.
