

GREENSBORO — W. Howard "Howie" Greeson, 89, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel. The service will be conducted by grandson, Dr. Daniel M. Harrell. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
Howie was born February 13, 1922 to the late Curry Zartman and Ida Flora Greeson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Nina Keen Greeson, and sister Margaret Kostrub and brother Roger Greeson.
Howie was a life time member of Peace United Church of Christ. He was a WW II US Army veteran, and a Senior Life Master Bridge Player. He loved and was loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, birds, genealogy, stamp collecting, big band music, and being 'The Avon Man".
He is survived by three daughters and a son; Pamela G. Daughtry and husband Steve, William Howard Greeson,Jr., Faye T. Harrell and husband Jimmy and Betty T. Shoffner and husband Jim, six grandchildren; Trey, Daniel, Greg, Amy, Terri and Michael, six great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Violet, Hunter, Lindsey, Aubrie and Carter, step great-grandchild; Jamie;, brother Kenneth Greeson, brother-in-law Vernon Keen; and special friend, Louise.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
