William Eugene Hancock

.Mr. William Eugene Hancock, 91, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016. Bill Hancock was born on June 27, 1924 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Herman Victor Hancock and Pearl Lyle Hancock. Bill was a teacher and department head of Mechanical Engineering and Drafting at Fayetteville Technical Community College from 1962 through 1988. Bill was known as a gentle, unassuming man who loved nothing more than serving Christ and his family. He was active in church activities. His home church was Ebenezer Bible Church previously located on Bragg Blvd. He also served on the Board of Carolina Bible College.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rose Hancock. He is survived by his two children; Rebecca Hancock Hankin (Dave) of Fayetteville, NC and David Gordon Hancock (Brenda) of Greensboro, NC, six grandchildren; Rachel (Nate), Mary Beth, Eric (Stephanie), Stephen, Caleb, Crystal as well as two great-grandchildren Wells and Grayer.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 5th, at 5:00 pm at Carolina Bible College, 817 McPherson Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28303. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel in Greensboro, NC. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
