

A funeral service, celebrating his life, will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11:00 am, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
Born December 2, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee, Scott was of the Christian faith. He served in the United States Navy as a Second Class Petty Officer (AW2). He served as squad leader of the H2D2 with the Navy SEARS (Search Rescue and Swim). He loved the water and helping others so being a Rescue Swimmer was a great passion to him. He was a Big Brother with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He was an avid fan of Duke and the Atlanta Braves. In his spare time he enjoyed going fishing and spending time with friends and family. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Steve McCreedy of Greensboro; mother and step-father, Jenni and Tom Fritschi of Jamestown; sister, Meridith McCreedy; grandfather, Bill McCreedy; and the light of his life, his two nephews, Matthew and Ryan.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 pm Wednesday evening, July 27, 2011, at the funeral home.
