Zelma T. Myrick

Mrs. Zelma Teague Myrick, 93, a resident of Jamestown passed away on Sunday March 11, 2018 at the Hospice Home of High Point. She was born November 16, 1924 in Reidsville the daughter of Reverend Edgar Roger Teague and Eula O’dell Allen Teague.

Zelma was married to Clinton Harold Myrick who preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Teague.

Zelma was a licensed cosmetologist and worked for many years at the Presbyterian Home in High Point. An avid bowler, she was a member of the Tuesday Senior Bowlers at Triad Lanes for over 20 years. She loved gardening, working in her flowers and was known for her delicious cooking.

An active member of the First Baptist Church in Jamestown, Zelma served as a greeter and was a charter member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She enjoyed attending monthly meetings of the “XYZ Club”.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna M. Ledbetter Cochran (Terry) of Trinity; her son, Eugene”Gene” Myrick (Pamela) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Christopher L. Myrick (Patty), Nicholas A. Myrick (Kelly), Amy N. Brown (Jason Russell), Haley M. Ledbetter (Chris Stout) and great grandchildren, Austin Myrick, Weston Myrick, Angus Myrick, Tabitha Myrick and Kyleigh Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Jason Knight. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Myrick, Nicholas Myrick, Austin Myrick, Weston Myrick, Jason Russell and Chris Stout.
