Don W Corbin

Don W. Corbin, 90, Greensburg, died on June 9, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born November 11, 1927 in Grant County, KY, he was the son of the late John William Corbin and Mattie (Moore) Corbin. He married Roselyn Granger on December 1, 1957 at Clarksburg, IN. He graduated from Clarksburg High School in the class of 1946. He was employed at Rex Manufacturing in Connersville, IN, Chrysler Corporation in New Castle, IN and Vail’s Garage in Clarksburg. He served the U.S. Army two years 1950-1952 as Staff Sergeant with the Second United States Infantry Division. He served 11 months in Korea in 1951. He owned and operated Clarksburg Motor Service and worked for the Decatur County Highway Department. He was a Master mechanic for Rodefeld Company for 27 years retiring in 1990. He worked part-time in maintenance at the Greensburg County Club from 1990 until December 2006. He was a member of the First Christian Church serving as deacon and past president of the Golden Rule Sunday school class. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #129, VFW Post #5584, a member of the Greensburg County Club playing Tuesday Night and Monday Senior League, bowled many years on the Tuesday evening league and was a former member of the Greensburg Jaycee’s and Clarksburg Community Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Lee Corbin, Fishers, Diana Gage and husband, John David Gage of Indianapolis, a granddaughter Rachael Lynn (Gage) Jones and husband, Lynn Jones of Rogersville, AL, and a grandson, Ryan David Gage of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009, two sisters, Louise (Vernon) Taylor and Edith M. Stambaugh, two brothers, Lloyd D. Corbin and Charles W. Corbin. Funeral service is at 11am on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, 110 East North Street, Greensburg, IN. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery in Clarksburg. Visitation is from 4-7pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home.
