Nellie Mae Ashcraft Mc Millian

Nellie Mae McMillian, 92, of Elizabethtown, IN passed away on July 17, 2011. She was born on November 17, 1918 in Mason, KY the daughter of Jed and Millie Ashcraft. On May 24, 1947 she married Lloyd Parker and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1952. She then married Howard McMillian on July 3, 1953 and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2000. Nellie was a homemaker. Although she only had one son she raised and loved several children. She was a member of Elizabethtown Christian Church, Eagles, V.F.W., and War Mothers (where she held several offices), and was very active in Lodge Charity work.

Survivors include: Children- Roger Dale McMillian, Charles Parker, Pauline Hughes, Evelyn Dickson, Geneva Kirs, Alice Faye Chambers, Shirley Marie Newland, Nelson Eugene McMillian, Francis Leroy McMillian, James Wm. McMillian, Carl Sherman McMillian, Siblings- Raymond Ashcraft, Helen Moore, She was preceded in death by: her Parents, Husbands, Children- Martin Reese Ashcraft, Howard Parker, Calvin Ashcraft, Emma Jean Ashcraft, Siblings- Calvin Ashcraft, William Coulson, Mattie Coulson, Kenneth Ashcraft, Bessie Ashcraft Pratt, Rozella Mains, and Eva Jane Coulson.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service to take place on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. all at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home . Rev. John Ruland will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
