Retta Jo Adams Griffey

Retta Jo Griffey, 60, of Greensburg passed away on June 27, 2012 at IU Clarian Medical Center. She was born on July 13, 1951 the daughter of Wren and Margaret (Stancomb) Adams. Retta was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School. She married Jim Griffey on March 14, 1970. She was a housewife and member of the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church of Waldron.

Survivors include: Husband- Jim Griffey, Daughters- Leah (Paul) Welker, Velvet (Rick) Schmidt, Amber (Mike) Raley, Grandchildren- Alex Schmidt, Alisha VanArsdale, Jordan VanArsdale, Lauren Schmidt, Abby Welker, Sisters- June (Herschel) Hurd, Joyce Westerfield, Brothers- Richard (Rita) Adams, Roger Adams, and Ricky Adams. She was preceded in death by: her parents and infant daughter- Alisha Annette Griffey.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 30 at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 7414 E. Michigan Road, Waldron, IN 46182. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Lawrence County, IN. Rev. George Mitchell will be officiating. Memorials can be made the any of the following: National MS Society, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes, or Riley Burn Unit.
