Rick L. Kennedy

Rick L. Kennedy, 48 of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Rick was born, the son of Letha Ryle and Danny Kennedy, on October 14, 1966, on a military base in Waukegan, Illinois. Rick was a 1985 graduate of the Greensburg High School.

Rick worked as a blasting technician at Austin Powder Company in Columbus for 25 years. He had a great love for the outdoors; he was a competitive fisherman and resided at Lake Santee. He also loved hunting, ranger riding, boating, cooking and entertaining, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his fiancé Brenda Bischoff-Thomas, his daughter Abagail Kennedy, his son Adam Kennedy, step children Tyler Davidson and McKenzie Hall, his mother Letha Ryle, his sister Danette (Jerry) Kennedy-Lusk, his brother Patrick (Shawna) Kennedy, step mother Jane Kennedy, two grandchildren Audrey Hall and Ayden Davidson, step sisters Angie Hersley, Nancy Tower, and Cindy Stuhrenberg, and step brothers Bill Ryle and John Ryle. He was preceded in death by his father Danny and grandparents Dallas and Orpha Kennedy.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 2PM until the start of Rick’s Funeral Service at 7PM the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
