Betty L Spurlock

Betty Spurlock, age 83 of Union City, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Troy, Ohio. Betty was born on January 31, 1943, in Kitts, Kentucky to the late Walter and Ethel (Harris) Hardy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard Spurlock, her brother, Lawrence Hardy and her sister, Zella Hardman.

Betty is survived by her children, William (Faith) Garland, Gina (Jeff) Trobridge and Joe (Amber) Garland; her grandchildren, Zac, Kyle, Abbie, Taylor, Hayley, Brett, Riley and Jensen; numerous great-grandchildren, extended family members Dayna Ritchie and Jimmy Henry; and her siblings, Ben Hardy and Bert Spurlock.

Betty worked many years for Fram until her retirement in 2000. Towards the end of her life, she fought the courageous battle with CRS. She was a simple lady who enjoyed sitting on her porch, tending her flowers or reading a book. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 18th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Betty.
