Dorothy E. Townsend, age 96 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:35 PM Monday October 6, 2025, at Arbors at Milford in Milford, Ohio. Dorothy was born October 14, 1928, in Darke County Ohio and the daughter of the late Ralph & Lydia (Wade) Bowman.
Dorothy had been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1955 and spent many devoted years of service to her creator.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Parl Townsend, sisters Ethel Hogg, Lucille Matthews, Gladys Deaton, and Marlene Bowman, and son-in-law John Milne.
She is survived by daughters Deborah Milne and Parla Kennett both of Cincinnati. Grandchildren Reuben (Julie) Kennett of Greenville, OH and Reece Kennett of Chicago, IL and great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and sister Barbara Pacheco of Rio Grande, New Mexico as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private Graveside service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025 at 10:30 am at the Gettysburg Cemetery Gettysburg, Ohio.
