

Mary L. Compton, age 87, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:40 AM at her residence. She was born on January 6, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late William & Clara (Rosier) Cooper.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Francis “Jake” & Betty Compton of Greenville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother and sister in law, Clarence & Mag Cooper of Dayton; sisters and brother in law, Velma & Jerry Duncan of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Betty Duncan of Troy, Ohio; special friend, Darlene Studebaker of Troy, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Compton; brothers, Jim, John, George and Bud Cooper; sister, Ellmae Bailey and grandson, Mike Penkal.
Mary was retired from Delco and was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple. She loved TV, crossword puzzles, NASCAR and the Cincinnati Reds.
There will be a service held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Ron Nischwitz. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
