Born in Euclid, Ohio, on March 11, 1947, Beth was the daughter of the late Harry Paul Knox and Jane August Knox. She was a graduate of Ohio State University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She later moved to South Carolina, where she and her husband took great pleasure in raising their three daughters.
Other than being a mother, one of Beth’s most fulfilling roles was serving as the Director of St. James Day School for 29 years. One teacher friend remembered her as continually planting kindness and joy into all the adults and children in her circle.
Beth was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. She was passionate in volunteering with organizations helping homeless families. She was an exercise enthusiast, who loved her daily workouts at the Eastside YMCA. Her instructor described her as a joy, concerned about everyone else and full of smiles and quick jokes.
Beth was full of life, and had a legion of dear friends. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, anything chocolate, a good glass of champagne and especially spending quality time with her family. She took great joy in, and was an amazing grandmother to her six grandchildren, who lovingly called her B. She continued to water ski into her senior years.
Beth is survived by her husband, William Patton Renninger, her three daughters; Laura Ballew (Tracy), of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Katie Bunch (Robert) of Columbia, SC and Anna Burrous (Clayton), of Murrells Inlet, SC, her six grandchildren, Charlie, Will, Henry, Jane, Harrison and Rucker, and her sister, Sue Knox of Fremont, CA.
In addition to her parents, Beth was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Roger Knox.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 304 E. Camperdown Way, at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 8, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the Eastside YMCA.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mackeycenturydrive.com for the Renninger family.
