Cecelia Ann Garren, 79, passed away on April 15, 2025. Born on March 21, 1946, Cecelia lived a life filled with quiet strength, thoughtful reflection, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted wife to the late Paul Eugene “Sonny” Garren, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend.
Though naturally reserved, Cecelia's presence was steady and comforting. She appreciated simplicity, enjoyed solitude, and found joy in peaceful routines. She preferred a quiet afternoon over a crowded event, and those who knew her well found her to be deeply thoughtful and gentle in spirit.
Early in her marriage, Cecelia traveled across the world to join Sonny on a military base in Japan. It was there that she gave birth to their first daughter, Leslie Ann, on a remote island—a story she loved to share. Her courage and commitment during this time spoke volumes about the kind of partner and mother she would always be.
Professionally, Cecelia began her career as a cosmetologist and later became a dedicated medical administrator. She brought care and attention to each task, preferring meaningful work over recognition. Her work ethic and humility earned the respect of her colleagues.
After retirement, Cecelia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved riding her bike along the Swamp Rabbit Trail, creating custom jewelry, and spending time by the pool. A lifelong animal lover, she especially adored dogs and supported their care whenever she could. One of her fondest memories was childhood summers spent at the family pool—a peacefulness she carried with her throughout life. Cecelia didn’t seek the spotlight, her independence, strength, and quiet determination were unmistakable. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her gentle kindness and loyalty.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Ann Hart and Eugena Garren Watson; her granddaughters, Clarissa and Lula Mae Hart; and her sister, Jimmie Gail Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene "Sonny" Garren.
