Born March 29, 1939 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Clayton Lewis and Lucy Murray Lewis. At a young age, David realized the value of hard work and began working at Judson Mill after school. After “obtaining” his PHD from Parker High School he attended and graduated from Furman University, he had a long career as an industrial engineer in the textile industry.
David was a loving husband, father and friend to all he met. David never met a stranger and had many close friends. He adored his grandchildren beyond measure. David had a strong Christian faith and always put others before himself.
He is survived by his wife Linda Lowe Lewis, his three children Sharon Lewis Reifenheiser (Rich), Robert William Lewis (Nancy), and Eric David Lewis; and four grandchildren, Richard Samuel Reifenheiser, Lauren Francis Reifenheiser, Robert Mills Lewis and Matthew Thomas Lewis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609 followed by a committal service in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's memory to Interim Home Health Hospice, 100 Verdae Blvd, Greenville, SC 29607.
