I remember you as one of the first and kindest people I knew in Greenville, SC when I moved there in September 1966.

Your quiet, determined and disciplined approach was an example for me to follow. We being in the last class of the day, it perked me up and pushed me to try harder.

You were a kind and gentle encourager of spirit and confidence to so many at Wade Hampton.

You made us better
