Fritzi Barbour, age 56, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday July 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. It was here that Fritzi’s very successful real estate career began. In 1998 she met and married her husband Steven who was an Air Force pilot. They spent the next year in Germany during his last assignment. Upon their separation from the military in 1999, they relocated back to SC and settled in Simpsonville. Fritzi loved real estate and it showed! As Broker in Charge of the firm’s flagship office she worked with a dynamic and highly productive group of agents and brokers who represent clients throughout the Upstate. Licensed since 1983, Fritzi was one of the few brokers in the marketplace to hold all of the following designations: Certified Residential Brokerage Manager, Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate REALTOR Institute, and the GREEN certification. Having a successful 15 year real estate sales career before transitioning to brokerage management allowed Fritzi to uniquely understand the situations involved in each transaction and support agents and clients alike in reaching their objectives. Enthusiastic and excited about the industry, Fritzi enjoyed creating systems and programs that helped move agents of all levels of experience and production to their potential. A non-competing broker, she focused on being available and accessible to her team as evidenced by her open-door policy.
Fritzi had a strong background of involvement with REALTOR organizations, specifically issues relating to Professional Standards and Multiple Listing Service Policy. She served as President both of the South Carolina REALTORS (2015) and Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS (2009) after many other elected and appointed positions within those organizations. She also served as Vice-Chair of the integral legal action committee of the National Association of REALTORS, where she previously served as 2018 Law and Policy Liasion, Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. She was selected as the REALTOR of the Year for South Carolina in 2018 and the Greater Greenville association of REALTORS In 2010 and Salesperson of the Year of the Virginia Peninsula Association of REALTORS 1991...all very meaningful awards in her career as they were the result of peer selection. Results-oriented, her office has on an annual basis been recognized for extraordinary sales production, both on a regional and national level. She was also recognized for high levels of per person production in her office on a national franchise level on numerous occasions. Quality results were a hallmark of Fritzi's work.
Active in the local community, Fritzi was a 2019 Co-Chair or the Chop! Cancer event to benefit the Cancer Survivors Park, a Palmetto Society member of the United Way of Greenville, past Advisory Board member of the Patewood Campus of the Greenville Health System, Sustaining member of the Junior League of Greenville, a Master Gardener and active with the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation. A member of First Baptist Church of Mauldin, Fritzi loved her husband and their Clemson Tigers and lived on a turf runway in Simpsonville.
