

Born In Greenville, SC on July 22, 1958. Though he never married, he was surrounded by close friends and family who loved him dearly.
Known for his talent as a great artist, he brought enjoyment to others through his cartoon drawings. He loved to read, especially comic books and was an avid collector of comic books since he was a child. Besides reading, he loved watching old movies and listening to gospel and country music. He especially loved listening to his two favorite artists, Hank Williams Sr and Buddy Holly. He especially loved the simple things in life.
Hal was a gentle person who deeply loved his family and spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Joyce Pruitt, a brother Philip Crowder, and his beloved grandmother Ollie Nabors.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister Sandra Black (Wes) of Pelzer SC, and two brothers Richard Pruitt (Tabitha) of Williamston, SC and Kenneth Crowder of Fountain Inn, SC. He also leaves behind lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Hal touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. A beautiful soul whose warmth, kindness, love of God, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. He leaves behind a legacy of love, and caring for his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Pathway Church, 327 Mountain Springs Rd, Piedmont SC.
