She was the daughter of the late Archie Gillespie and Virginia Jacks Gillespie.
Havey lived all of her life in Greenville, and was a graduate of Parker High School.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, George E. Spake, of 54 years, two sisters, Violet White and Nancy Lee, a brother, Bobby Gillespie, her brother-in- law, Jerry Spake, 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Spake Mabry and Dot Spake Brogan, and two loving sons in law, Robert L. Boggs and James Steve Gresham.
She is survived by her only child, Savannah Boggs Gresham, 2 sisters in law, Carolyn Gillespie and Cathy Spake, and a long-time friend and companion, Roland Lee.
Some of her favorite things were animals, decorating, flowers and shopping. She was known for her never aging beauty, sweet and fun spirit, and great detail to fashion, whether at work or working in the yard.
She was employed by Greenville Memorial Hospital for 38 years, now known as Prisma, and did not retire until the age of 78. And even then with reluctance, as she loved the hospital and her years of service.
Havey was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church, and her faith was strong.
She will be cremated at Mackey Mortuary. No service is planned.
In her memory, and if desired, memorials to the No Kill Animal Facility off of Hayward Road, may be made. Many thanks to Christy, her hospice nurse with Pathway Hospice, and to the Greenville Glen Assisted Living Facility, for their kind and loving care, and to Stephen Clyborne, her pastor, whom she adored, for his loyalty and prayer support, and to Mackey Mortuary.
